Biswamohan Pani stealing trade secrets

News Report -- A former Intel Corp. employee Biswamohan Pani, 33 was indicate for stealing trade secrets worth $1 billion from the chip maker while he worked for its rival, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Federal prosecutors in Massachusetts said Biswamohan Pani downloaded confidential documents from the chip maker's California headquarters while he was on vacation and actually working for AMD.

Prosecutors said AMD had no knowledge of Pani's actions and did not benefit. But they say the information Biswamohan Pani downloaded was worth more than $1 billion in research and development costs, and included details about methods for designing microprocessors.

Pani told to investigators he had no intention of harming Intel, and was going to give the information to his wife, who also worked for Intel. Pani's lawyer has declined to comment.
