The federal government agreed late Sunday night to bail out Citigroup, a dramatic move that could save the troubled New York financial giant.[New York Daily News]

In spite of insisting it is "well capitalized", a Citigroup Bailout Agreement was negotiated involving the Fed, the Treasury, and the FDIC.[MarketWatch]

South Korea's Kospi slumped 3.4% to 970.14, although it narrowed losses on media reports about the U.S. government's bailout for Citi.[MarketWatch]

But the optimism continued to be seen in the US futures earlier today especially after the Citigroup bailout, the Dow Jones inclined 66 points reaching to 8102 levels, S&P 500 managed to gain 13.20 points and NASDAQ inclined 13 points.[International Business Times]
